But the leaker wasn’t able to state whether it will be called the Switch Pro or with any other name. The Nintendo Switch Pro could be announced during a Nintendo Direct, a Nintendo Direct Mini, or even may hold a standalone event. There are strong rumors that there will be an event from Nintendo that will be held before E3. Even though there aren’t any kinds of official confirmations, we are expecting the Nintendo Switch Pro Release Date between June 12 and 15. Those who have followed news, leaks, and rumors regarding Nintendo, will know that Nintendo doesn’t like to see the leaks of their upcoming products in the market and always wants it to be a secret until it is unveiling.
— Nick (@Shpeshal_Nick) May 31, 2021 So taking this information with a pinch of salt is always suggested. As this will reduce the disappointment if Nintendo doesn’t announce the Switch Pro. Nintendo, unlike Sony or Microsoft, likes to surprise its consumers when it comes to product announcements. Unlike doing heavy marketing before the release, they release their products and let the market and the consumers speak for themselves. Nintendo has always been successful with this trick.
Nintendo Switch Pro Release Date
As said before, the rumors regarding the upgraded Nintendo Switch have been up lately. and there are reports from many publications that the pro version of the Switch does exist, and it will be soon made available for the public, preferably by the time of September or October this year. The gaming community has already seen the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and it makes sense for Nintendo to launch a pro version to their four-year-old device. Nintendo was able to sell more than 79 million units of the Nintendo Switch since its launch in March 2017.
Expected Features
As for what to expect on the hardware side, rumors suggest that the Nintendo Switch Pro console will carry a 7-inch 720p OLED display powered with a brand new Nvidia processor. This processor is expected to have supports DLSS. Along with this, the bezels around the display have also been reduced. This means that the size of the chassis will not be increased and will be more or less the same. Nintendo Switch Pro is also expected to get a larger back flap. This cover will cover the entire width. By this backflip cover, it will provide better balance on the new Switch Pro when keeping on a flat surface.
The Switch Pro is also expected to carry support for 4K graphics when docked to TVs. This was a much wanted and anticipated feature the fans were always demanding as the current Nintendo switch only supports maximum resolution up to 1080p. With the launch of this new console, Nintendo is also expected to launch a new lineup of games. These all pieces of information are from the rumors that are spread across the internet, and Nintendo hasn’t confirmed any of them to date. Along with developing the Nintendo Switch Pro, there are reports which suggest that Nintendo is developing an upgraded Switch dock. This Switch dock will come with two USB 3.0 ports and an Ethernet port. For those who don’t know, the current existing dock lacks an Ethernet port and has only USB 2.0 ports. The addition to the dock may increase the overall size a little bit as compared to the current dock.
Currently, the Nintendo Switch is selling for a price tag of $299. Since the console is termed as a Pro, it is expected that the new Nintendo Switch Pro will be priced higher. We are expecting the pro version to be priced anywhere between $50 to $100 more than the current model. Also Read: ‘Dragon Star Varnir’ To Receive A Nintendo Switch Port!
